Violence: 'IPOB' bomb-making center were locked in Ebonyi

The Ebonyi state police said it has successfully discovered a bomb-making facility belonging to the biggest separatist group, IPOB, in South-Eastern Nigeria.

This has come after the security forces of the unity force received accurate information about the center where bombs are being assembled to incite unrest in the community.

She killed and captured some IPOB members, while others escaped with serious injuries.

The spokesman of the Ebonyi State Police Command, Chris Anyanwu, who disclosed this in a statement, said the investigation followed an operation by the police where they clashed with members of the IPOB/ESN group.

Two people were killed from among the members of the separatist group of IPOB and one of the commanders was arrested in the bomb assembly center.

A joint team of the Army, plainclothes security officers and the police, went to the place where the suspected commander was plotting damage and discovered major incidents of violence.

The items that were discovered included “30 explosive devices and devices for assembling and disarming bombs and other devices and components of various explosives used to assemble the mines.

Anyanwu said that the bomb-making center was found in a camp in Obegu which is located on the border between Onicha-Isu and Ishielu local governments of Ebonyi State.

The officer also said that two other policemen were slightly injured while two of the gunmen were killed and some of their members who escaped were injured during the exchange of fire that took place.
